About This Project

Marens Hægte | Maren´s Lace | Tønder, Denmark

Length: 2.50 m, height: 2 m. Built in front of Tønder Museum, Denmark in October 2001 out of red clay in the context of the exhibition “Flet”- meaning lace- in a broad sense. The sculpture was inspired by lace and horseshoe design in the specific lace model called Marens Hægte. In the museum is a collection of laces because there has been a long tradition for lace work in this area. The sculpture is still in 2009 standing up well.
